Oppo A3 Pro 5G: My 1-Year Long-Term Review, Price, 8GB/128GB & 5G Bands

I have been using the Oppo A3 Pro 5G for the last 1 year, and this is not a review based on a few days with the phone. I have lived with it through normal calls, WhatsApp, social media, photos, video watching, 5G use and daily charging. For me, the Oppo A3 Pro 5G has been more about everyday reliability than impressive benchmark numbers. If you are comparing its experience with newer phones or checking the Redmi 17 5G Price in India, it is worth looking beyond the price and considering how the phone performs in real-world daily use. In this long-term review, I am sharing what I actually noticed, including the good things, the small problems that started bothering me, and the questions I had about this phone after using it for so long.

Note: The personal-use observations below are based on the experience you provided. Official specifications and launch details are separately verified against OPPO’s published information.

Oppo A3 Pro 5G 8 128: The Variant I Bought

I bought the 8GB RAM 128GB storage variant. After 1 year, my storage is noticeably more occupied than when I started because of photos, WhatsApp media, apps, downloaded videos and system files.

The 8GB RAM has generally been enough for my everyday usage. I can move between WhatsApp, Chrome, Instagram, YouTube and other regular apps without feeling that the phone becomes unusable. While the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is a much more premium smartphone focused on advanced camera features and flagship performance, this level of RAM is still sufficient for most users who mainly use their phone for everyday tasks and regular multitasking.

OPPO launched the A3 Pro in India with 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB configurations. The launch prices were ₹17,999 and ₹19,999 respectively. The phone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset and also supports RAM Expansion.

For someone buying it today, I would personally think carefully about storage. If you take lots of photos and videos, the 256GB version makes more sense than buying 128GB and constantly managing space.

Oppo A3 Pro 5G Price in India

The Oppo A3 Pro 5G price in India started at ₹17,999 for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, while the 8GB+256GB version launched at ₹19,999. OPPO made the phone available through Amazon, Flipkart, the OPPO Store and retail outlets.

The launch price is not necessarily the same as today’s selling price, so I would check the current retailer price before purchasing. This is especially important if you are looking for Best 8GB RAM 256GB Storage, as the price of the exact RAM and storage variant can change depending on the seller, offers and availability.

After using the phone for a long period, I think the value of this device depends more on the actual price you find than its original launch price.

Oppo A3 Pro 5G Waterproof or not?

This was something I personally wanted to know after using the phone.

Once my phone got wet in the rain. I checked and found that the Indian Oppo A3 Pro 5G has an IP54 rating, which means it has protection against limited dust and water splashes. OPPO also advertises Splash Touch, allowing the display to respond when the screen or your hands are wet.

So, is the Oppo A3 Pro 5G waterproof? No, I would not call it waterproof.

I would treat it as a phone with basic water and splash resistance, not something to deliberately put under water. If it gets wet in rain, wipe it properly and avoid unnecessary exposure to water.

This distinction is important because some newer OPPO phones have much higher IP ratings. The A3 Pro’s official Indian rating is IP54.

Oppo A3 Pro 5G Back Cover: What Worked for Me

I have used 3 different back covers in 1 year. The best one was a slim, raised-edge TPU case with proper camera protection.

I did not like very thick covers because the A3 Pro is already designed to be slim. OPPO lists the phone at around 7.68mm thick and about 186g, so a bulky case takes away some of the comfortable feel. If you are also comparing it with Samsung 5G phones under ₹15,000, keep in mind that build, weight and overall in-hand comfort can vary considerably between models.

My advice is simple: don’t choose a cover only because it looks good. Check that the camera module has a raised lip, the buttons remain easy to press, and the corners have enough protection.

The phone itself has OPPO’s Damage-proof All-Round Armour Body, but I still prefer using a proper case for daily protection.

Oppo A3 Pro How Many 5G Bands?

In my area, I tested the 5G speed and found that the experience depends heavily on the network and local coverage, so I would not use one speed result as proof of the phone’s overall 5G performance.

For the Indian model, the Oppo A3 Pro supports eight listed 5G NR bands: n1, n3, n5, n8, n28B, n41, n77 and n78. These are the bands listed for the Indian model by OPPO’s specifications.

That is useful if 5G compatibility is an important part of your buying decision. Actual speeds, however, still depend on your carrier, location, network congestion and deployment.

What I Like After 1 Year

1. The phone still feels comfortable for daily use

The combination of a relatively slim body, 120Hz display and 8GB RAM has kept the everyday experience pleasant for me. OPPO also claims a 50-month fluency protection test for the model.

2. Battery and charging remain convenient

The 5,100mAh battery and 45W SUPERVOOC charging have been useful in my daily routine. I don’t like waiting around for a phone to charge, and the fast charging makes short charging sessions much more practical. OPPO says the battery is designed for more than four years of durability.

Two Problems I Noticed After Long-Term Use

1. Storage needs more attention

With the 128GB variant, storage management becomes more important after months of use. Photos, videos, WhatsApp files and apps can add up surprisingly quickly.

2. Heavy use can change the battery experience

My experience with battery life is better on normal days than when I use mobile data heavily, stream for long periods or use demanding apps continuously. Like most phones, the workload makes a noticeable difference.

I would not describe either point as a deal-breaker, but they are things I would keep in mind before buying the 128GB model.

Oppo A3 Pro 5G Pros and Cons After 1 Year

ProsCons
8GB RAM is comfortable for everyday multitasking128GB can feel limiting over time
5G support with multiple bandsIP54 is splash resistance, not waterproofing
120Hz displayHeavy usage affects battery faster
45W fast chargingNot designed for underwater exposure
Slim and relatively light body2026 buyers should compare newer alternatives

Final Verdict

After using the phone for around a year, I can say that the Oppo A3 Pro 5G has worked well for my normal day-to-day needs. The 8GB RAM, 120Hz display, 5G connectivity, 5,100mAh battery and 45W charging are still useful features.

But I would not buy it blindly in 2026. This is an older 2024 model, so the Oppo A3 Pro 5G price in India matters a lot now. If you find the 8GB+128GB version at a significantly reduced price and your usage is mostly everyday apps, calls, social media and streaming, it can still make sense.

If you need lots of storage, I would personally look at the 256GB version or compare newer phones before making the final decision.

Overall, my biggest takeaway after living with this phone is simple: it has been a dependable everyday phone for me, but its value in 2026 depends heavily on the price you can actually get it for.
